Submissions for group projects are next week, that weekend is Gamestart, exams starts the week after that, and AFA is two weeks after that. I am SO not ready for any of that.

And here I am.

Haha,.. I need a break from doing research to complete the remaining 3 out of 4 group projects left. ugh. It's annoying that my school is so far away and I feel guilty that I am not going for group meeting because it is fucking troublesome to travel 2 hours to school to do group meeting and then 2 hours back home. That's a fucking waste of time, that I only have 24 hours a day to do anything at all and 4 hours of travel is already 1/6 of the day gone, not counting my sleep?!

Anyways, ranting as it is, another series of rants I've been seeing through Facebook is something along the line of cosplayers quitting because they don't feel good cosplaying anymore...? Possibly with the common cause of a certain group of society who are quick to criticize, and/or their attitudes in general towards their own cosplays?
Coincidentally earlier today, I read an article through Facebook about an 18-year-old Instagram model quitting modelling and is now revealing the truth in her million-followers Instagram account through posting the "truth" behind the "perfect" photos. Some of the "truths" include taking hundreds of photos to get the perfect shot to post on Instagram, and being paid by designer companies to wear certain clothes so that she will post it on her account to show to her followers, also known as advertising. She decided to stop because her initial intention of creating art with her body and enjoying it has become commercialize and people value her as a model to promote their products rather than appreciating her for being her, for being pretty, and when she doesn't meet their expectations, she was criticized.
So I guess the main thing that one have to keep grounded to is the intention of starting a hobby, or a passion. This very reason is what brought realization to this girl to quit Instagram modelling before it was too late for her to bring herself out of it without any detrimental consequences. Society is screwed up and I cannot agree more to that, but it is us who decide on how to react to it. With the right intention, you wouldn't loose your way easily, or feel let down by your own passion and something you loved.
I started cosplaying because I want to MAKE and SHOWCASE my costumes and be the characters that I love, rather than the popularity. Honestly, what popularity can you gain through cosplay anyway. The popularity would ultimately link to the character rather than the cosplayer, particularly in the eyes of people outside of coscom who pretty much don't give a damn about the artist and only the art. Hence with this intention, it didn't actually mattered to me that I don't get much "Likes" in my posts and cosplays. Partly because if any popular, someone I know outside of cosplay may juuuust find out that it is me and things may get awkward. haha...

Yeah, it is sad seeing cosplayers leaving the community for such reasons, be it clearly pointed to a group of criticizers or just the lost of reasoning with themselves. But yeah I'll admit that while I make sure that cosplay remains just a hobby, I get stressed up over it also hahaha... Well, that I'll have to make sure I am stressing up with the right things instead, like school haha...
