Hey ! I've been postponing this post a bit too much but I guess I should do it now that AFA is coming up real fast in about 3 weeks? Which also means my first semester of uni is also coming to an end, but that's another thing haha

So! Today's post will be about how I made my KanColle Shiratsuyu Class: Murasame na Kai props!


Oh ya before that did I tell you the disastrous story about this cosplay hahaha... I'm gona tell you (again?) anyways haha...
I was supposed to do Murasame for AFA as planned by my group but then there was another group doing Shiratsuyu Class and Takako happened to be in their group as Harusame. She asked me to join them since they don't have a Murasame and Harusame needed a Murasame so I agreed and so me and Takako did Haru and Mura sames for STGCC day 2!


According to Tako the group was not as close as her Kaze team (which I agreed because I was their SK for their shoot the other day and the 4 of them were really close haha) and apparently they didn't do their props although they said they wanted props... such a bummer cuz... I made my props already. Like wth haha so whatever ah since I made my props I might as well bring it right. Which I did hehehe~ But that's not the disastrous part of the story tbh. The disastrous part was the part I was buying the costume. At that time Taobao had free agent fees and revised shipping fees so me and Riiyuuki decided to get our costumes since we plan to do Yagen and Midare from Touken Ranbu for GameStart, which is next week holy shit I am not ready. While I got Yagen's costume I decided to get Murasame's costume as well and found a <$20 and immediately placed it in my cart. When it came, it was pretty and all but it was of the fucking wrong colour. Shiratsuyu class' costumes are BLACK but what came was navy BLUE. I tried to cloth dye it with Dylon but I forgot that dyes don't work on polyester so i wasted $8. Ugh. Well at least they got the sleeves right. hahaha... :')


To solve this I... had to rent a Yuudachi costume on Carousell with the right colour and the day before I used the costume I disintegrated my taobao costume and changed the sleeves and covered Yuudachi's band at her waist and Tadaaaaa~ Murasame's costume is done! BUT that was not the end of it ya. 2 weeks before STGCC I was frustrated that the wig I initially had for Murasame was yellow blonde and not dirty blonde. The inaccuracy finally irked me and made me frustrated 2 weeks to STGCC. Only 1 week to STGCC did I finally decided to seek taobao and rush Murasame's wig, well actually it was for Nyo!Talia's England but the colour matches better so hey no complains. I actually thought of getting Love Live! Kotori's wig since it is the same colour but then the tying up would be a hassle and will turn out ugly, blame that on my hairstyling skills. I mean i cannot even style my own hair and you want me to style a wig?? haha nope . Along with the wig I got Yamatonokami Yasusada and another wig... I forgot what hahaha just to make use of the parcel's by-weight shipping. Luckily the parcel came 5 days later (damn fast I tell you) and I got my wig in time! :D


After much stress and defo much more money spent, STGCC was overall fun. Though it as a weird experience, because it was the first time I did Love Live! Eli unidolised maid and Murasame from KanColle, both of which are very feminine? I usually did guys or girls with some degree of masculinity in them but this was a whole different experience but it was fun and the response I got was fairly encouraging hehe (bad habit but it's nice to indulge once in a while, yes).

It was a bummer because the STGCC Touken Ranbu group I was in planned to have a full team for STGCC but my costume didn't finish in time T__T So that's why the unexpected Eli maid. I was supposed to do with Tsuna as Nozomi but she fell sick hais.
